## Guide

### 1. Nordli Base Assembly

A NORDLI chest stands on a plinth, a low white board on six small feet, and wears a flat top\. Here you have the plinth lying upside down, the top, six levellers, eight wooden dowels, eight cam bolts, two steel strips, a spanner and a screwdriver\. Tap any part to see its name\.

The chest frame at the back is sold separately\. This guide uses the 80 cm wide size\.

### 2. 1–2 · Screw in the Levellers

A leveller is a little adjustable foot\. Press a felt pad onto each leveller head, then screw all six into the metal inserts on the underside of the plinth by hand\.

The felt pads stop the feet scratching your floor\.

### 3. 3 · Turn Over and Add Dowels

Turn the plinth the right way up so it stands on its feet\. Push a wooden dowel into each of the four small holes near the two ends\.

### 4. 3–4 · Lay the Steel Strips

Lay a steel strip over the dowels at each end, flush with the edge of the plinth\. The chest sides will stand on these strips\.

### 5. 5 · Screw In a Cam Bolt

A cam bolt is a screw with a round neck that a lock inside the chest grabs\. Screw the first one in with a cross\-head screwdriver until its collar touches the strip\.

Stop there: a bolt screwed in too deep cannot be locked\.

### 6. 5 · The Other Three Cam Bolts

Screw in the other three cam bolts the same way, two at each end\.

### 7. 6 · Set the Chest On

Lift the chest frame straight down so its sides slide over the dowels and cam bolts\. Line it up flush with the front of the plinth\.

A chest is heavy and awkward: lift it with two people\.

### 8. 14–16 · Lower the Top On

The top gets its own four dowels and four cam bolts underneath, fitted just like the plinth\. Turn it over and lower it straight onto the chest\. Then turn the cam locks inside the chest clockwise to pull everything tight\.

### 9. 18 · Level It

Lay a spirit level on the top\. Where it tilts, slide the spanner onto that leveller and turn it to raise or lower the corner until the bubble sits in the middle\.

### 10. 19–21 · Fix It to the Wall

Your chest stands on its new base, about eight centimetres taller\. Always fasten it to the wall with the tip\-over restraint, so it can never fall forward\.

Wall screws are not included: ask your hardware shop which suit your wall\.
