### 1. Inverter Meets Battery

The Solis S6 inverter on the wall turns sunshine and battery power into electricity for the home\. The Dyness PowerBrick on the floor stores that energy\. They need two links: thick cables to carry power and a thin cable so they can talk\. Tap any part to see its name\.

The PowerBrick holds about 14 kWh, enough to boil a kettle around a hundred times\.

### 2. 1 · Switch Everything Off

Flip the DC breaker, a safety switch between the two machines, down to OFF\. Then turn the inverter's DC switch to OFF\. The battery's own power switch stays off too\.

The battery is only 51\.2 volts, but it can push a huge current\. Never work on live cables\.

### 3. 2 · Power Cables into the Inverter

Connect the inverter end first\. Push the red cable into the positive \(\+\) battery socket and the black cable into the negative \(\-\) one until they click\.

Red is always positive, black is always negative\. Swapping them can damage both machines\.

### 4. 3 · Power Cables into the Battery

Now plug the other ends of the same cables into the battery: red into \+, black into \-\. The breaker sits in between, so power can be cut in one move\.

### 5. 4 · Plug in the Talking Cable

This thin cable looks like an internet cable, but it carries CAN, a language machines use to chat\. Plug one end into the battery's CAN IN port and the other into the inverter's BMS port\.

Use the battery's CAN IN, not CAN OUT: CAN OUT is for linking more batteries\.

### 6. 5 · Wake the Battery

Turn the battery's power switch to ON\. Then press and hold the WAKE button for about three seconds\. The charge lights glow when it is awake\.

With one battery and a Solis inverter, the small address \(DIP\) switches stay at 0000\.

### 7. 6 · Switch the Inverter On

Flip the DC breaker back up to ON, then turn the inverter's DC switch to ON\. The inverter's screen lights up\.

### 8. 7 · Tell the Inverter Its Battery

Use the buttons under the screen: Advanced Settings, password 0010, Storage Energy Set, then Battery Select\. Choose Dyness LV, press Enter, then Save & Send\.

Menus can change between software versions\. Check the Solis manual if yours looks different\.

### 9. Connected\!

Power flows through the red and black cables, and the two machines chat over the CAN cable\. Once they agree, the inverter shows the battery's charge and can fill it with sunshine\.
