## Guide

### 1. Bror Workbench: The Parts

This steel workbench is 85 cm wide, 40 cm deep and 89 cm tall, with four drawers\. Here are its legs, two frames, the plywood worktop, eight runners, two braces, the drawer panels and the bags of fittings\. You need the 4 mm hex key, the spanner and a cross\-head screwdriver\. Tap any part to see its name\.

Build it with two people, and never use a power screwdriver\.

### 2. 1 · Foot Caps on the Legs

Push a plastic foot cap \(192249\) onto the end of each of the four legs\. The legs are L\-shaped steel angles, so each cap is L\-shaped too\.

### 3. 2 · First Leg on the Frame

Lay one frame flat\. It becomes the top frame later, so the work starts upside down\. Stand a leg in one corner, cap upwards, slip a corner bracket \(10050776\) inside, then fix it with two M6 screws \(10042206\), turned clockwise with the hex key\.

Use the M6 screws here, not the M5 screws \(190230\)\.

### 4. 3 · The Other Three Legs

Fix the other three legs in the other corners the same way: one bracket and two M6 screws at each corner\.

### 5. 4 · The Second Frame

Lower the second frame over the capped leg ends\. Fix each of its four corners with a bracket and two M6 screws, eight screws in all\.

### 6. 5 · Turn It Over, Add the Worktop

With a helper, turn the frame the right way up so it stands on its foot caps\. Then lower the pine plywood worktop straight down onto the top frame\.

### 7. 6 · Screw the Worktop

Drive eight cross\-head screws \(113335\) up through the holes in the top frame into the underside of the worktop\. Turn them clockwise with a screwdriver until they are snug\.

### 8. 7 · Left Runners

Runners are the rails the drawers slide on\. Find the four marked "L" and fix them on the left side, one at each drawer level\. Each runner takes three M6 screws through the legs\.

Twelve screws in all on this side\.

### 9. 8 · Right Runners

Fix the four runners marked "R" on the right side in the same way, mirror image to the left\. That is another twelve M6 screws\.

### 10. 9 · Hook the Braces Together

A brace is a steel strap that stops the frame from leaning\. Lay one brace on the other, drop its hooks into the slots, then slide it along until the centre holes line up\.

### 11. 10 · Bolt and Open the X

Push one M5 screw \(190230\) through both centre holes into a square nut \(190231\) and tighten it with the hex key\. Then swing the straps open into an X\.

This is the only place the M5 screw goes into the frame\.

### 12. 11 · The X Brace on the Back

Go round to the back\. Lay the X across the back legs, one strap end at each corner, and fix it with eight M6 screws from the inside\.

### 13. 12 · Wall Brackets

Turn the bench so the X brace faces the wall\. Fit the two wall brackets \(192365\) on the back legs, so the bench can be fixed to the wall and cannot tip\.

Wall screws are not included: choose ones that suit your wall\.

### 14. 13 · Drawer: Hook On the Sides

Now build a drawer\. You will make four\. Stand the back panel up and hook a side panel onto each end: push the hooks into the slots, then slide the side down to lock\.

### 15. 14 · Drawer: The Bottom

Drop the bottom panel in, flat face up, not the ribbed face\. Fix it with five M5 screws through the lower edges of the sides and back\.

### 16. 15 · Drawer: The Front

Slide the front panel, the one with the rolled lip that you pull, onto the open side\. Fix it with two M5 screws through the sides\.

### 17. 16 · Drawer: Turn It Over

Turn the drawer upside down and drive three M5 screws through the bottom into the front panel\.

### 18. 17 · Drawer: Bolts at the Back

Turn it back up\. Fit two M5 screws with square nuts where the sides meet the back, holding each nut with the spanner while you turn the hex key\.

Repeat steps 13 to 17 for the other three drawers\.

### 19. 18 · Hang the Drawers

Tilt each drawer slightly so its back rollers meet the runners, then push it in level until it runs smoothly\. Each drawer holds up to 15 kg and the worktop up to 60 kg\.

Fix the bench to the wall before you fill the drawers\.
