## Guide

### 1. Build a Baby Cot

In the box are two end panels with legs, two slatted side panels, a mattress base and a bag of metal fittings\. You need two tools: a flat screwdriver and the hex key from the box, a bent metal key with six\-sided ends\. Tap any part to see its name\.

Build it on a rug or carpet so the wood does not get scratched\. If a part is missing or you get stuck, the manual says to contact IKEA\.

### 2. 1 · Push In the Barrel Nuts

A barrel nut is a small metal cylinder with a threaded hole through its side\. Push four of them into the holes near the ends of the side panels, slot facing out\. Turn each one with the flat screwdriver until its side hole lines up with the bolt hole\.

### 3. 1 · Stand the Sides Against the End

Stand both side panels up against the posts of one end panel\. The posts are the thick corner bars that also make the legs\. Line up the holes at the ends of the side panels with the holes in the posts\.

### 4. 1 · Bolt the First Corner

Push a long bolt through the hole in the post\. Turn it clockwise with the hex key until it catches the barrel nut inside the side panel, then tighten it\.

The bolt only catches if the barrel nut's side hole faces it\. If it will not catch, turn the nut a little with the screwdriver\.

### 5. 1 · Bolt the Other Three

Fit the other three bolts the same way\. The end panel and both side panels now make a U shape\.

### 6. 2 · Fit the Corner Studs

Lay the mattress base on the flat box so its corners hang free\. Push a stud, a bent metal pin, up into the hole under each corner block\. Its long arm should point out past the end of the base\.

Each corner block should line up exactly with the end of its rail, with no gap\.

### 7. 2 · Screw the Studs Tight

Put a screw into the hole on top of each corner block\. Turn it clockwise with the hex key so it holds the stud firmly in place\.

### 8. 3 · Turn the Cot onto Its End

Carefully tip the U shape over so it stands on its end panel\. The open end now points up at the ceiling\.

### 9. 3 · Lower the Base In

Slide the base down between the side panels until its studs drop into the holes for the high position\. The manual shows this high position for a small baby who is still lying down\.

Once your baby can stand, the base moves to the holes for the low position\. The last step shows how\.

### 10. 4 · Put On the Second End

Lower the second end panel onto the top\. Its posts slide over the studs and meet the rail ends of the side panels\.

### 11. 4 · Push In the Last Barrel Nuts

Push the last four barrel nuts into the side panels near this end\. Turn each one with the screwdriver until its side hole lines up, just like before\.

### 12. 4 · Tighten the Last Bolts

Push the last four bolts through the posts\. Turn each one clockwise with the hex key until it is tight\.

### 13. Stand It Up

Tip the cot back onto its four legs\. The base sits in the high position, ready for a small baby\. Your cot is built\!

### 14. Later · Lower the Base

When your baby can stand, move the base to the low position so the sides are taller\. Turn the four bolts at one end anticlockwise with the hex key, then pull out their barrel nuts\. Lift off that end and move the base down into the holes for the low position\. Push the barrel nuts back in, line them up and tighten the bolts clockwise\.
