## Transcript

### 1. Bookcase 78001 · Parts and Tools

Here is everything in the box: two tall side panels \(F and H\), six boards \(top L, four shelves U, bottom I\), a thin back panel and the small fittings\. You need a hammer, a tape measure, an awl \(a pointed tool for starting screw holes\) and two screwdrivers\. Tap any part to see its name\.

Two people, one to two hours\. Build on the flattened box so nothing gets scratched\.

### 2. 1 · Bolts into F and H

Screw a connecting bolt into each middle hole on the inside of both side panels: six in F and six in H\. Turn each one clockwise until its collar sits flat on the panel\.

Keep the bolts straight and stop at the collar: not tilted, not sunk too deep\.

### 3. 2 · Dowels into the Boards

Tap a wooden dowel into the two outer holes at both ends of every board, four per board and 24 in all\. Leave the middle hole empty for the bolt\.

### 4. 3 · Anti\-topple Bracket on L

Put the metal bracket on the top panel L, in the middle of the back edge, with its flange standing up\. Start the holes with the awl and drive in the two screws\.

Tighten them only about 80 % for now\.

### 5. 4 · Build the Frame

With the front edges down, slide all six boards onto the bolts of F, then push H on from the other side\. Put a cam lock \(a round metal lock\) into each hole under the boards, arrow towards the bolt, and turn it clockwise with the flat screwdriver until it grips\.

The bracket and the rough edges go at the back\.

### 6. 5 · Nail On the Back Panel

Lay the back panel on the frame and measure both diagonals: when they match \(XX = YY\), the frame is square\. Nail it on all round, about every 9 cm, using the plastic holder to start each nail\. Then tap a glide into the bottom of each leg\.

The holder keeps your fingers away from the hammer\.

### 7. 6 · Stand It Up and Fix It to the Wall

With two people, lift the bookcase clear of the floor and stand it up, so its corners never pivot on the floor\. Mark the wall through the bracket, drill and plug the hole, then screw the bracket to the wall\. Now tighten the two bracket screws fully\.

Choose a wall screw and plug that suit your wall; they are not in the box\. A fixed bookcase cannot tip over\.

### 8. 7 · Cover the Cam Locks

Peel a cover disc and press it over each of the 12 cam locks under the boards\. Your bookcase is ready: up to 13 kg on each shelf\.

Clean it with a dry cloth, never with water\.
