### 1. Welcome to the workshop

This Porsche Cayenne stands on the turntable at RAY Motion, a Cayenne workshop in Breda in the Netherlands\. Here, family SUVs are rebuilt for gravel, sand and forest tracks\. Choose an upgrade in each step and the car changes straight away\.

Drag anywhere to walk around the car\.

### 2. Lift kit

A lift kit uses taller springs to raise the body higher above the wheels\. More air under the car means rocks and ruts are less likely to scrape it\. Watch the gap above the tyres grow\.

A 2 inch lift adds about 51 mm: roughly three fingers of extra space\.

### 3. All\-terrain tyres

The sidewall is the rubber side of a tyre, between the wheel rim and the tread that touches the ground\. Road tyres sit on big 21 inch wheels with a thin sidewall\. All\-terrain tyres use smaller 19 inch wheels with a tall, soft sidewall and chunky tread blocks: raised rubber squares that grip mud, gravel and sand\.

An all\-terrain tyre is about 79 cm tall: above the hip of an 8\-year\-old\.

### 4. Bullbar and rock sliders

A bullbar is a strong steel hoop in front of the bumper that carries round spotlights and two red D\-shackles\. Shackles are loops for a tow strap if the car gets stuck\. Rock sliders are steel rails that guard the doorsills on rocky ground\.

### 5. Roof platform

A flat roof platform carries the gear: a fuel can, a storage box and a sand ladder for digging out of soft sand\. The expedition setup adds a raised camping deck and a rolled\-up awning for shade\.

A Cayenne roof may carry about 75 to 100 kg: roughly one adult\.

### 6. Lights for the trail

Far from streetlights, the trail gets very dark\. Switch on the lights to see the headlights and any fitted spotlights and light bar paint the workshop floor\.

### 7. Pick a colour

Most adventure builds keep calm, earthy colours that hide dust and match the landscape\. Choose a paint and the whole body changes colour\. The black trim, bars and wheels stay the same\.

### 8. Your adventure Cayenne

This is your build with every upgrade you chose\. Switch on the comparison to see the factory car on the same spot, then switch it off again to see how much has changed\.

Go back to any step to change a choice\.
