## Guide

### 1. A car from eight photos

Eight photos, taken all the way around one blue car, became this 3D model\. Each photo shows a different side, so together they hold the whole shape\. Drag to walk around it\.

Scroll or pinch to move closer\.

### 2. The side photo draws the outline

The side view gives the outline in one long curve: a low hood, a sloping windscreen, a roof that peaks just behind the middle and a short tail\. The amber strips mark the length, the height and the wheelbase, the gap between the axles\.

This car is about 4\.69 m long and 1\.44 m tall, with 2\.73 m between its axles\.

### 3. Photos can stretch the truth

A camera close to a car makes near things look bigger\. In the side photo the wheels are nearer the lens than the roof, so they look about 15% too large\. The model takes its shapes from the photos and its sizes from the maker's measurements\.

On the photo the wheelbase measures 65% of the length\. The real figure is 58%\.

### 4. The face from the front

The front photo shows the width and the car's face\. Swept\-back headlights point towards a wide grille dotted with small chrome pins and split by two shiny fins\. Lower down, openings let in air to cool the engine and brakes\.

The body is 1\.83 m wide, not counting the mirrors\.

### 5. Five pairs of spokes

Each wheel has five pairs of spokes, gloss black with bright cut\-metal edges\. On the photos the metal wheel fills about 71% of the tyre's height, which points to an 18 inch wheel inside a low, wide tyre\.

Through the gaps you can see the brake disc that slows the wheel\.

### 6. The tail from behind

From behind, the roof narrows sharply above wide rear hips\. Slim red lamps wrap from the boot lid around the corners, and two chrome exhaust tips sit at the outer edges\.

The inward lean of the side windows is called tumblehome\.

### 7. Lights on

Switch the lights on\. A thin LED strip runs along the top of each headlight like an eyebrow, and both parts of each tail lamp glow red\. Lights help other people see the car as much as they help the driver see\.

### 8. Shine shows the shape

Glossy paint works like a curved mirror\. The long bright stripes are studio lights reflected in it, and the way they bend reveals every curve of the body\. Try another colour and watch the same curves catch the light\.

The photos show a deep blue metallic paint\.
