### 1. Clint 6\-Drawer Dresser

Everything for the dresser is laid out on the floor: two side panels, a centre divider, five rails, a top, two back panels and the parts for six drawers\. The only tools are the hex key from the box and a Phillips screwdriver\. Tap any part to see its name\.

Leave every bolt a little loose until the whole dresser is built, and never use a power screwdriver\.

### 2. 1 · Fix Rails E, H and G to the Divider

The centre divider D stands upright\. Push a wooden dowel \(dd\) into each rail end, press rails E, H and G onto the divider, and drive one screw \(ff\) through each rail into it\.

A dowel is a small fluted wooden peg that lines two parts up\.

### 3. 2 · Hook the Two F Rails into the Divider

Slide each F rail into the notches on the divider's front edge, so the two parts lock together like puzzle pieces\. No hardware is needed here\.

### 4. 3 · Stand the Frame on Side Panel B

Lay side panel B flat with its slides facing up\. Stand the divider and its five rails on it, dowels first\. Bolt rails G, F, F and H with a bolt \(aa\), a spring washer \(cc\) and a flat washer \(bb\) each; rail E takes a dowel only\.

### 5. 4 · Fit Side Panel C on Top

Turn side panel C over so its slides face down and lower it onto the top ends of the rails\. Fix it with dowels and the same bolt, spring washer and flat washer sets\.

Keep the bolts slightly loose for now so the frame can settle square\.

### 6. 5 · Stand It Up and Slide In the Back

Stand the cabinet upright, round front legs to the front\. Lower the two back panels I one after the other into the grooves at the back of the side panels\.

### 7. 6 · Fix the Top

Set six dowels into the tops of the side panels and divider, then lower top A on with its rounded corners at the front\. Fix it from below with eight bolt and washer sets through the top rails\.

### 8. 7 · Drawers: Sides to Front

Each drawer starts with its front J lying face down\. Stand sides K and L at its ends, the slide runners facing out, and fix each with two screws \(ee\)\. Do this for all six drawers\.

### 9. 8 · Drawers: Slide In the Bottom

Slide each thin drawer bottom N down into the grooves of the front and sides\. It holds the drawer square\.

### 10. 9 · Drawers: Fix the Back

Close each drawer with back M and fix it with two screws on each side, 24 screws for the six drawers\.

### 11. 10 · Fit the Cup Pulls

Hold a cup pull \(gg\) on the outside of each drawer front and drive its two screws \(hh\) through the holes from inside the drawer\.

### 12. 11 · Peel Off the Tape, Fit the Drawers

Peel the transport tape off the cabinet slides\. Push each slide's ball\-bearing cart to the front, line the drawer's runners up with the tracks and push it in carefully until it stops\.

If a drawer does not run smoothly, take it out and try again\. To take one out, pull it fully open, press one plastic release lever down and lift the other\.

### 13. 12 · Fix the Anti\-Tip Plates to the Cabinet

Turn to the back of the dresser\. Screw two anti\-tip plates \(jj\) just under the top, one near each side, with two screws \(kk\) each\.

Anchoring stops a heavy dresser tipping forward if someone climbs or pulls on the drawers\.

### 14. 13 · Drill the Wall

Mark two holes on the wall for each plate, lined up with the cabinet plates\. Drill them with a 5/16 inch \(8 mm\) bit\.

Check for hidden pipes and cables before drilling, and let an adult do this part\.

### 15. 14 · Fix the Wall Plates

Tap a wall anchor \(ll\) into each hole, then screw on the two wall plates \(jj\) with two screws \(mm\) each\.

### 16. 15 · Strap It to the Wall

Push the dresser back against the wall\. Thread a strap \(nn\) through each cabinet plate and its wall plate and pull it snug\.

Now go round and tighten every bolt firmly\.

### 17. Done

The Clint dresser is built: six drawers on smooth ball\-bearing slides, safely anchored to the wall\. Fill the bottom drawers with the heaviest things\.
