## Guide

### 1. Parts and Tools

The PAX frame, 100 × 58 × 236 cm: two side panels, a top and a bottom panel, two plinth rails and a hardboard back panel, with the fittings on the carton\. You need a flat and a cross\-head screwdriver, a hammer, a pencil, a tape measure and a spirit level\. Tap a part to see its name\.

Two people are needed\. Do not stand on the panels\. The frame must be fixed to the wall: the wall screws are not included, so choose ones that suit your wall\.

### 2. 1 · Wall Brackets

Lay both side panels flat, inner face up\. Set a wall bracket on each at the top back corner, its upright plate along the back edge\.

### 3. 1 · First Bracket Screw

Screw a screw through the bracket into the panel, turning it clockwise with the cross\-head screwdriver\.

### 4. 1 · Other Three

Fit the other three screws the same way, two in each bracket\.

### 5. 2 · First Cam Bolt

Screw a cam bolt into the front hole at the bottom end of the left side, turning it clockwise with the flat screwdriver until its collar meets the panel\.

### 6. 2 · Other Three

Screw in three more the same way: in the front hole at the top end, and at both ends of the other side panel\.

### 7. 3 · Four More

Screw a cam bolt into the middle hole at each end of both side panels\.

### 8. 4 · Last Four

Screw the last four into the back holes at each end\. Each side panel now has three cam bolts at each end\.

### 9. 5 · First Wood Dowel

Lay the top and bottom panels flat\. Push a wood dowel into a hole in the end edge of the bottom panel until half of it is in\.

### 10. 5 · Other Seven

Push in the other seven: two in each end edge of both panels\.

### 11. 6 · First Tee Nut

Turn the bottom panel underside up\. Set a tee nut in the hole near a front corner and hammer it in until its flange lies flat on the panel\.

### 12. 6 · Second Tee Nut

Hammer the second tee nut into the hole at the other front corner the same way\. Keep it straight: a tilted tee nut will not take the screw\.

### 13. 7 · Foot Caps

Push a foot cap onto the plain end of each adjuster screw until it clicks\.

### 14. 8 · Feet

Screw an adjuster screw into each tee nut by hand, turning it clockwise, foot cap outwards\.

### 15. 9 · Rail Dowels

Push two wood dowels into each end of both plinth rails, half of each dowel in\.

### 16. 10 · Measure the Ceiling

Measure the height of the ceiling\. With 244 cm or more, build the frame lying down and raise it, as this guide does\. A lower ceiling needs the standing route in the manual \(page 18\)\.

The 236 cm frame needs at least 244 cm to be raised from lying down\.

### 17. 11 · Bottom Panel

Lower the bottom panel onto the bottom end of the left side, feet at the outer end, so the cam bolts and wood dowels go into its holes\.

### 18. 12 · Top Panel

Lower the top panel onto the other end of the side the same way\.

### 19. 13 · First Cam

Push a cam into the hole beside the cam bolt, arrow towards the bolt\. Turn it clockwise with the flat screwdriver so it grips the bolt head\.

### 20. 13 · Other Five

Fit and turn the other five cams by this side: three in the bottom panel and three in the top panel\.

### 21. 14 · Plinth Rails

Lower both plinth rails onto the side below the bottom panel, one at the front and one at the back, their dowels in the side's holes\.

### 22. 15 · Second Side

Turn the second side panel over, inner face down, and lower it onto the frame so all the bolts and dowels go into its holes\. Its bracket goes at the top end\.

### 23. 16 · Six More Cams

Fit and turn six cams by the second side: three in the bottom panel and three in the top panel\.

### 24. 17 · Onto the Front

Turn the frame over onto its front edges, so its open back faces up\.

### 25. 18 · Back Panel

Lay the back panel in the rebate around the back of the frame\.

### 26. 19 · First Nail

Hold the nail in the nail holder with its ledge against the edge of the frame, so the nail goes in 10 mm from the edge\. Hammer the nail in at the bottom corner, then slide the holder off\.

### 27. 20 · Second Nail

Square the back panel in the rebate and nail the top corner on the same side the same way\.

### 28. 21 · Third Nail

Nail the top corner on the other side\.

### 29. 22 · Other 47

Hammer in the other 47 nails all round the edge of the back panel, each 10 mm from the edge with the nail holder\.

### 30. Stand It Up

With the back panel facing up, raise the frame about its bottom end until it stands on its feet, back to the wall\.

Raise it with two people\. Do not tip it up with the back panel facing sideways\.

### 31. 21 · Mark the Wall

Mark the wall with a pencil through the hole in each wall bracket\.

### 32. 21 · First Wall Screw

Drill and plug the wall as your wall needs\. Drive a wall screw through the bracket into the wall with the cross\-head screwdriver, leaving its head a few millimetres out\. Use a round\-headed screw, not a countersunk one\.

Wall screws are not included\. Ask a hardware shop for screws that suit your wall\.

### 33. 21 · Second Wall Screw

Drive the second wall screw through the other bracket the same way\.

### 34. 21 · Lock Washers

Hook a lock washer under the head of each wall screw, against the bracket\.

### 35. 22 · Level the Frame

Hold the spirit level upright against the front edge of a side\. Turn the adjuster screws through the holes in the bottom panel with the cross\-head screwdriver until the frame stands plumb\.

### 36. 23 · Tighten the Wall Screws

Tighten both wall screws clockwise so the washers hold the brackets against the wall\.

### 37. 23 · Bracket Covers

Push a cover onto each bracket towards the wall until it clicks\.

### 38. 24 · Cover Caps

Press a cover cap into each adjuster hole in the bottom panel, and into the two matching holes under the top panel\.

### 39. Frame Done

The frame stands level and is fixed to the wall, ready for doors and fittings\.

The screws and sleeves left on the carton are only for joining two frames\.
