## Guide

### 1. Alex Drawer Unit

Here is everything in the box: five boards, the drawer parts and rows of small fittings\. You need a flat screwdriver, a cross\-head screwdriver, a hammer and the bent hex key\. Tap any part to see its name\.

Two people make the big boards easier to handle\.

### 2. 1 · Cam Bolts in the Sides

Lay both side panels flat, rails facing up\. Screw three cam bolts \(112996\) into each one, clockwise\. A cam bolt is a screw with a round head that a cam lock will grab later\.

### 3. 2 · Dowels and the Top

Push four wooden dowels \(101345\) into the ends of the top panel\. Dowels are little wooden pegs that keep boards lined up\. Then stand the sides against the top so the bolts slide into its holes\.

### 4. 3 · Lock the Top

Drop six cam locks \(102509\) into the round holes in the top panel\. Turn each one half a turn with the flat screwdriver: it hooks the bolt head and pulls the boards tight\.

Use the taller 102509 cam locks here, not the flanged 103114 ones\.

### 5. 4 · Cam Bolts in the Back

Lay the back panel flat\. Screw six cam bolts \(112996\) into it, three along each long edge\.

### 6. 5 · Dowels in the Back

Push four wooden dowels \(101345\) into the back panel, two along each long edge\.

### 7. 6 · Join the Back

Fit the back to the frame so its bolts and dowels slide into the side panels\. Lock it with six cam locks \(102509\), three in each side, half a turn each\.

Again, the taller 102509 cam locks, not 103114\.

### 8. 7 · Dowels for the Bottom

Push four wooden dowels \(101345\) into the edges of the side panels, two in each\. Press the bottom panel onto them\.

### 9. 8 · Screw On the Bottom

Drive six long screws \(100214\) through the bottom panel into the sides with the bent 4 mm hex key\. Turn them clockwise until they are snug\.

### 10. 9 · Feet, Then Stand It Up

Tap the four plastic feet \(119363\) into the corners of the bottom panel with a hammer\. Then turn the unit over so it stands on its feet\.

### 11. 10 · Short Drawer: Bolts

There are two short drawers and three tall ones\. For a short drawer, lay its front face down and screw two cam bolts \(112996\) into it\.

### 12. 11 · Short Drawer: Sides

Push one wooden dowel \(101345\) into the end of each drawer side\. Stand the two sides on the front so the bolts and dowels go into their holes\.

### 13. 12 · Short Drawer: Cam Locks

Put two flanged cam locks \(103114\) into the outside of the sides and turn them half a turn with the flat screwdriver\.

### 14. 13 · Short Drawer: Bottom

Slide the thin drawer bottom down between the sides until it rests in the front\. Push it all the way down\.

### 15. 14 · Short Drawer: Back

Lower the back strip onto the ends of the sides, over the bottom\. Hammer in four nails \(110519\), two on each side\. Build the second short drawer the same way\.

### 16. 15 · Tall Drawer: Bolts

Now a tall drawer\. Lay its front face down and screw four cam bolts \(112996\) into it, two near each end\.

### 17. 16 · Tall Drawer: Sides

Stand the two sides on the front so the bolts go into their holes\.

### 18. 17 · Tall Drawer: Cam Locks

Put four flanged cam locks \(103114\) into the sides, two on each, and turn them half a turn\.

### 19. 18 · Tall Drawer: Bottom

Slide the drawer bottom down between the sides, just like the short drawer\.

### 20. 19 · Tall Drawer: Back

Lower the back strip on and hammer in four nails \(110519\)\. Build the other two tall drawers the same way\.

### 21. 20 · Drawers In, Stop Screws

Slide the two short drawers into the top openings and the three tall ones below, with their grooves on the rails\. Then drive two small screws \(105021\) per drawer into the slots at the front of the rails with the cross\-head screwdriver\.

The stop screws keep a drawer from being pulled all the way out\.

### 22. 21 · Bumper Pads

Stick the four soft pads \(102384\) on the corners of the top\. They cushion the unit when it stands under a desk\. Your drawer unit is ready\!

Never stack one drawer unit on top of another\.
