### 1. Meet the Luna Ultra

This is the Insta360 Luna Ultra, a camera that rides on a tiny robot arm\. It stands about 17 centimetres tall and weighs about 233 grams\. Drag anywhere to turn it around\.

A gimbal is a moving mount that keeps a camera steady and level\.

### 2. Three little motors

Under the camera head sit three motors\. One pans the head left and right, one tilts it up and down, and one rolls it to keep the picture level\. Watch each one take its turn\.

Orange shows pan, teal shows tilt and pink shows roll\.

### 3. Steady as you walk

When you walk, your hand bobs and wobbles\. Sensors feel every wobble, and the motors turn the opposite way just as fast, so the camera head stays level\. Press Take a walk to see it\.

Watch the handle sway while the lenses keep looking the same way\.

### 4. Two eyes, two views

The head holds two cameras side by side\. The wide one has a Leica lens and a large 1\-inch sensor, so it takes in the whole scene and copes well in dim light\. The tele one sees about three times closer, for faces and details\.

Wide works like a 20 mm lens and tele like a 60 mm lens\. The screen shows the difference\.

### 5. Turn to face you

Triple\-tap the joystick and the whole head swings round 180 degrees\. In one move it switches between filming the world and filming you\. Press Triple\-tap to try it\.

A double\-tap points the camera straight ahead again\.

### 6. A screen that lets go

Squeeze the two red side buttons and the front slides off with the screen, record button and joystick\. It becomes a remote that still steers the camera from about 20 metres away, using its own small battery\.

The screen is a bright 2\-inch touchscreen\. Click it back on to carry everything as one piece\.

### 7. Ready for your pocket

Two cameras, three motors and a screen that can leave the handle, all in one small piece\. It can record video up to 8K, which means very sharp pictures\. Then it slips back into a pocket\.

An 8K video frame holds about 33 million pixels\.
