## Guide

### 1. Build a Rocking Basket Stand

This wooden stand rocks a Moses basket, a small carry\-cot for a new baby\. You get two curved skids \(the rockers\), four legs, two connectors, a cradle base and four handles\. The screws, pins and round metal locks called cams lie on the box lid\. Tap any part to see its name\.

Flat\-pack manuals are drawn almost without words, so one booklet works in every country\.

### 2. 1 · Fit the Blocking Blocks

Lay both skids flat with their holes showing\. A blocking block is a rounded wooden end cap\. Push its rod into the hole in the square end of each skid and tighten it so it sits snug\.

### 3. 2 · Fit the Legs

Slide the foot of each leg into a notch in a skid\. Two legs go on each skid\. Turn every leg so its smaller hole faces inwards, towards the middle\.

The feet stand square to the curve, which is why the finished legs lean in\.

### 4. 3 · Drive the First Confirmat

Lift and hold the leg and skid together\. Push a confirmat screw into the hole under the skid\. Turn it clockwise with the Allen key, the L\-shaped metal tool in the box, until it is tight\.

A confirmat is a thick screw made for joining wooden parts end to end\. This one is 6\.4 mm wide and 50 mm long\.

### 5. 3 · Drive the Other Three

Fix the other three legs the same way, one confirmat under each foot\.

### 6. 4 · Fit the First Eccentric Pin

An eccentric pin is a short metal peg that a cam will grab later\. Screw one into the smaller hole of a leg with a cross screwdriver\. Its collar should stand out of the wood\.

The screwdriver is the one tool not in the box\.

### 7. 4 · Fit the Other Seven

Every leg gets two pins: one near the foot and one near the free end\. That makes eight pins in all\.

### 8. 5 · Press On the Connectors

With one skid in front of you, press the two leg connectors onto the pins nearest the skid\. Their round cam holes face the skid\.

### 9. 6 · Press On the Cradle Base

Press the cradle base onto the pins at the free ends of the legs, with its holes facing the skid too\. It is an open frame of two end bars and two rails\.

### 10. 7 · Add the Second Skid

Turn the other skid and its legs over\. Line the pins up with the four posts and press it all down\.

### 11. 8 · Turn It Upside Down

Turn the whole stand over so the cradle rests on the floor\. Now the eight cam holes face up\.

### 12. 8 · Lock the First Cam

Drop a cam into a hole with its little arrow pointing at the pin\. Turn it half a turn clockwise\.

The cam is a disc with a curved groove inside\. As it turns, the groove hooks the pin head and pulls the joint tight\.

### 13. 8 · Lock the Other Seven

Lock the other seven cams the same way: arrow to the pin, then half a turn\.

### 14. 8 · Stand It on Its Skids

Turn the stand back over and set it down on its skids\. It can rock gently now\.

### 15. 9 · Seat the Handles

Lay the tab of each handle in a groove on the end bars, uprights at the corners\. Handles 4 and 5 are mirror images, so each end gets one of each\.

### 16. 9 · Screw the First Handle

From underneath, drive a metric screw up through the end bar into the handle tab\. Tighten it with the Allen key\.

### 17. 9 · Screw the Other Three

Fix the other three handles the same way\. Then check that every screw and cam is tight\.

### 18. Ready to Rock

The stand is finished\. It holds a basket up to 75 by 35 by 23 centimetres, and the handles stop it sliding off\.

Use it only on a flat, steady, dry floor, for babies who cannot sit up yet\.
