## Guide

### 1. MGX Compute Tray Removal

This liquid\-cooled MGX rack \(GB200 NVL72 style\) holds 1U compute trays\. Each tray takes 48–54 V DC from the rear busbar through a blind\-mate clip and coolant through quick\-disconnect fittings\. You will remove the tray in slot 13\.

Typical tray: 438 × 44 × 766 mm, about 29 kg\. Always follow your OEM service guide\.

### 2. 1 · Safety and Prep

Put on an ESD wrist strap and clip it to the rack ground point\. Check you have the tools, cable labels, two drip trays and a server lift or tray cart rated for the tray before you start\.

Work in the cold aisle with dry hands; keep a spill kit within reach\.

### 3. 2 · Identify the Tray

Turn on the location LED from the BMC or rack manager, then confirm the blinking blue LED and the slot number on the rack post both match your work order: slot 13\.

Never rely on counting trays by eye\.

### 4. 3 · Shut Down and Power Off

Gracefully shut down the operating system, then power the tray off through the BMC \(web, Redfish or IPMI\)\. Wait until the green status LED and the other front status LEDs are off\.

Mistake: pulling a tray that is still powered can arc at the 48–54 V busbar clip\.

### 5. 4 · Label and Unplug Cables

Tag every front network and management cable with its port, then press each latch and pull the plug straight out\. Move the cables clear of the tray path\.

### 6. 5 · Isolate the Coolant

At the rear, slide drip trays under both quick\-disconnect couplings\. Close the supply and return isolation valves, then press each coupling sleeve and pull it back off the tray nipple\.

Mistake: moving the tray before the coolant lines are isolated and disconnected spills coolant onto live equipment\.

### 7. 6 · Release the Levers

Press the release latches and swing both gold ejector levers fully open\. The levers unlock the tray from the rack\.

### 8. 7 · Slide the Tray Out

Raise the lift to the slot and pull the tray straight out on its rails\. Watch the rear: the busbar clip slides off the copper busbar and the NVLink connectors unmate\. At the rail stop, press the rail latches and continue onto the lift\.

Keep the pull square; never lever the tray sideways\.

### 9. 8 · Lift and Place

Lower the lift, roll it to the ESD\-safe bench and slide the tray onto the grounded mat\. Without a lift, two people carry the tray level, one at each side\.

Mistake: lifting a 29 kg tray alone\. Use the lift or a second person\.

### 10. Common Mistakes

Never pull a tray while it is powered, while coolant lines are still connected, or alone\. Each one risks arcing, coolant spills or injury and damage\.

### 11. Knowledge Check

Answer the five questions in the quiz panel\. You get feedback after every answer and your score at the end\.
