### 1. The Bed Frame and Its Yellow Clips

This steel bed base comes in three sections\. Six yellow clips go into the open ends of the side rails, two for each section, and a rubber mallet taps them in\. Tap any part to see its name\.

A rubber mallet is a hammer with a soft head\. It pushes firmly without denting the steel or chipping the paint\.

### 2. 1 · Start the First Clip

Pick up a clip: a flat plate with two holes and two wavy bent edges\. Slide the bent edges into the open end of a rail, with the plate facing out\. Push until it holds by itself\.

### 3. 2 · Tap It Home

Hold the mallet so it hits straight along the rail\. Three firm taps on the flat plate drive the clip in\. Stop when the plate sits snug against the end of the rail, like a cap\.

Small, square taps work better than one big swing\.

### 4. 3 · Fit the Other Five

Do the same at the end of every side rail: start each clip by hand, then tap it home\. Each section ends up with a clip in both rails at the same end\.

### 5. Done

All six clips are in, two at the same end of each section\. Give each one a gentle wiggle: none should move\.
