## Guide

### 1. NÄSINGE: What Is in the Box

This dining table grows from 130 to 190 cm long when you slide its top out and drop in a 60 cm leaf\. Here are the boards, legs, leaf and three bags of small parts\. Tap any part to see its name and number\.

Build it with two people, on a rug or the flattened carton so nothing gets scratched\. You need a cross\-head and a flat screwdriver and a hammer\.

### 2. 1 · Brackets on the Long Rails

Fix a steel corner bracket \(122483\) at each end of both long rails, with two 100325 screws each\. Turn the screwdriver clockwise to tighten\.

### 3. 2 · Fit the Stop Blocks

Screw one plastic stop block \(10103580\) onto each long rail near its left end, using one small 108445 screw\.

### 4. 3 · Four Dowel Bolts

Screw the four dowel bolts \(118331\) into the long rails, two on each\. Their grey ribbed part stays sticking out\.

### 5. 4 · Two Round\-Head Bolts

Screw one smooth round\-head bolt \(156685\) into the hole in the middle of each long rail\.

### 6. 5 · Dowels in the Beams

Push two wooden dowels \(101350\) into both ends of each thin beam: eight in all\. A dowel is a small wooden peg that lines boards up\.

Lay the cross rails with their round holes facing up\.

### 7. 6 · Make the H Frame

Push the beams into the cross rails to make an H shape\. Then press one more dowel into each end of the cross rails\.

### 8. 7 · Swing the Long Rails Up

Lift each long rail up onto the ends of the H frame, so its bolts and dowels slide into the holes\. Press it home near the bracket\.

### 9. 8 · Lock with Four Cams

Drop a cam lock \(103430\) into each round hole in the cross rails\. Turn it clockwise with the flat screwdriver: it grips the bolt and pulls the joint tight\.

### 10. 9 · The Latch

Fix the steel latch \(10062668\) to one end board with two 100325 screws\. Use only this short screw here, not 109021 or 10082399\.

### 11. 10 · Close the Frame

Hold the end boards against the brackets and fix each bracket with two 100325 screws\. Then turn the whole frame over\.

### 12. 11 · Press In the Slide Rails

Press a slide rail \(10120478\) down into the groove along the top edge of each long rail, until it sits flush at both ends\.

### 13. 12 · Fit the Four Clips

Hook a toothed clip \(10035950\) into each notch in the long rails and fix it with one 109535 screw\. Then turn the frame over again\.

### 14. 13 · Frame onto the Top

Lay the tabletop face down\. Lower the frame onto it so its rails sit in the guides on the underside\.

### 15. 14 · Hook Both Ends

Slide the frame along the rails until both ends are hooked on\. It should glide without forcing\.

### 16. 15 · Two Stop Bolts

Screw two round\-head bolts \(156685\) into the holes in the underside of the top\. They stop the top from sliding too far\.

### 17. 16 · Block and Pin

From bag 2, fit the plastic block \(10082205\) with its steel pin \(10064763\) using two long 10082399 screws\. Only this screw fits here\.

### 18. 17 · Two Flat Plates

Screw two flat plates \(10103587\) to the top near its end, each with two 100325 screws\. They will hold the leaf later\.

### 19. 18 · Slide the Frame Into Place

Slide the frame along the rails until it is nearly at the end of the top\.

### 20. 19 · Click\!

Give one last push\. The latch snaps over the block’s pin with a click: the table is now locked closed\.

### 21. 20 · Prepare the Four Legs

Push a cross dowel \(110912\) into the hole in the top of each leg by hand; a flat screwdriver turns its slot to line up its holes\. Then screw in two studs \(100033\) clockwise\.

### 22. 21 · Fit the Legs

Set each leg in a corner so its studs pass through the bracket\. Add a spring washer \(100843\) and a nut \(100712\) to each stud and tighten with the tube spanner \(120202\)\.

### 23. 22 · Glides, Then Stand It Up

Tap a glide \(107271\) into each foot with the hammer; glides protect your floor\. Then, with two people, turn the table onto its legs\.

Next comes the leaf: the top will slide out to make room for it\.

### 24. 23 · Plates on the Leaf

Lay the leaf face down\. Screw two flat plates \(10103587\) along one edge, each with two 100325 screws\.

### 25. 24 · Triangle Brackets

From bag 3, fit two triangular brackets \(10035981\) at the other edge, each with two 109021 screws\.

### 26. 25 · Block and Pin on the Leaf

From bag 2, fit the second block \(10082205\) and pin \(10064763\) with two 10082399 screws, just like step 16\.

### 27. 26 · Unlock and Pull Out

Unlock the latch by swinging its lever hook down\. Then pull the top out to open a gap at the end\.

### 28. 27 · The Cover Strip

Lay the thin strip \(112608\) along the end of the frame, where the leaf will rest\.

### 29. 28 · Lower the Leaf

Hold the leaf face up and tilt it into the gap, letting its triangle brackets hook under the plates first\. Then lower it flat\.

### 30. 29 · Push Together and Lock

Push the top back against the leaf until the latch clicks: locked\. Your NÄSINGE now seats six\. To shorten it, unlock, pull out, lift the leaf away and push the top home\.
