## Transcript

### 1. Locked In\!

Click\! The parlour door has locked behind you, and the candles flicker in a cold draught\. Three jack\-o’\-lanterns sit dark on the table beside an iron\-banded casket\. Look around for clues, then choose the next step to begin your escape\.

Drag the room to look around\. Tap objects to use them\.

### 2. Wake the Lanterns

The painting above the table shows three pumpkins, smallest to largest\. Tap the lanterns in that same order to light them\. Light one out of turn and a ghostly breath will blow them all out again\.

The first jack\-o’\-lanterns were carved from turnips in Ireland and Scotland, after the folk tale of Stingy Jack\. Pumpkins came later, in North America\.

### 3. The Ghostly Code

In the lantern light, three glowing green numbers have appeared on the wallpaper\. Tap the casket’s brass wheels to turn each one until they spell out the ghost’s code\.

Each tap turns a wheel to the next number, from 0 up to 9 and round again\.

### 4. The Skeleton Key

The casket creaks open\. On its purple velvet lies an old brass skeleton key\. Tap the key to try it in the door\.

A skeleton key is cut down to a bare “skeleton”, so it slips past the wards of simple old warded locks\. It cannot open a modern pin\-tumbler lock\.

### 5. Escape into the Night

The lock turns with a deep clunk and the door swings wide\. A flutter of bats escapes ahead of you into the moonlit graveyard\. You solved the Halloween escape room\!

Every puzzle can be played again from the first step\.
