### 1. Before You Start

This TV stand takes two people\. Lay a protective mat right by the wall where it will stand, and build the shelf face down on it, front towards the floor\. Stickers mark the front and left of every board, and you can tap any part to see its name\.

The finished shelf must be fixed to the wall so it cannot tip\.

### 2. Check the Feet

The lowest board, h1, stands on four small feet\. Turn a foot clockwise or anticlockwise to change its height until the board sits level and does not rock\.

Check again afterwards that all the feet are even\.

### 3. 01 · Vertical Elements v1–v4

Stand h1 on its front edge by the wall\. Hold each vertical element, called v1 to v4, with its FRONT sticker towards you, slide it against h1, then push it down so its slots drop over the pins\.

Each edge should end flush: perfectly level, with no step at the corner\.

### 4. 02 · Horizontal Element h2

Fit the long board h2 onto the free ends of v1 to v4\. Line up its left end first, then press it down along its length until every corner sits flush\.

### 5. 03 · Back Panels w1 and w2

Press the two push pins on the edge of each back panel in with a finger\. Lower w1 into the left bay and w2 into the right bay\. Listen for two clicks as the pins spring into their holes\.

### 6. 04 · Vertical Elements v5–v8

Fit the upper row the same way as step 01\. Slide v5 to v8 against h2 and push each one down onto its pins\.

The upper dividers do not line up with the lower ones, so the middle top bay is narrower\.

### 7. 05 · Horizontal Element h3

Fit the top board h3 onto the free ends of v5 to v8\. Press it down along its length until its corners are flush\.

### 8. 06 · Back Panel w3

Press in the two pins of back panel w3\. Lower it into the narrow middle bay of the upper row until it clicks twice\.

### 9. Raise the Shelf

With a partner, lift the shelf by the vertical elements, as close to the middle as you can\. Tip it up on its bottom edge so it stands against the wall\.

This is why you built it one shelf\-depth away from the wall\.

### 10. Align the Elements

Every edge should line up into one even whole\. Hold the felt\-covered board against an edge that sticks out and tap it gently with the rubber mallet, a hammer with a soft head\. Start at the bottom and work up\.

Ask another adult to steady the shelf while you tap\.

### 11. Add the Doors

Door f1 goes in the lower left bay and f2 in the lower right bay\. Each door has two hinges; press each hinge arm onto its plate inside the bay until it clicks\.

### 12. Adjust the Hinges

Only if a door jams: each hinge has three screws for a PH2 screwdriver, a medium cross\-head size\. The left screw moves the door in or out, the middle one up or down and the right one sideways\.

Turn a little at a time and close the door to check\.

### 13. Build Drawer A

Lay the drawer front A1 face down\. Drop the sides A2 and A3 into its slots, then fit the bottom A5 between them and press the back A4 onto its four clips\.

Check that every corner is flush before the next part\.

### 14. Fit the Drawer

Lift the drawer into the narrow middle bay of the upper row and push it in\. Press the front with both hands until it seats\.

### 15. Check the Drawer

Press its joints once more, then slide the drawer out and back in\. It should run smoothly all the way\.

### 16. Level the Drawer

If the drawer front sits crooked, slide the small black strips under it\. Sliding them towards the centre raises the drawer; sliding them outwards lowers it\.

### 17. Fix It to the Wall

Screw the two metal brackets to the top board near its back edge and into the wall\. Use a wall plug that suits your wall, from a hardware shop\.

The shelf must be fixed to the wall to prevent injury or damage from tipping\.

### 18. Well Done

Your TV stand is ready\. Clean it with a soft, damp cloth and gentle cleaners, wipe up spills quickly and keep it away from radiators and open flames\.

To move it, take it apart and build it again where it will stand\.
