## Guide

### 1. PAX Wardrobe Frame

Everything for one tall wardrobe frame lies on the floor: two long side panels, a top, a bottom, two narrow plinth rails, two thin back sheets and a row of small fittings\. You need a cross\-head screwdriver and a hammer\. Tap any part to see its name\.

Build it with two people, lying down on a clear floor\. Never stand or walk on the panels\.

### 2. 2–4 · Screw In the Cam Bolts

A cam bolt is a little metal peg with a round head\. Screw four into the inside face of each side panel, near both ends\. Their heads will be gripped later\.

### 3. 5 · Push In the Dowels

Dowels are short wooden pegs that line the boards up\. Push two into each end of the top and of the bottom panel\.

### 4. 11–12 · Lower the Top and Bottom

With the first side panel lying inside up, lower the top, the bottom and the two plinth rails onto it\. The dowels and cam bolts slide into the holes waiting for them\.

### 5. 13–14 · Lock the First Side

A cam lock is a round metal disc\. Press one into each hole with its arrow towards the bolt, then turn it clockwise\. It grabs the bolt head and pulls the boards tight\.

Half a turn is enough\. Too much force can split the board\.

### 6. 15 · Add the Second Side

Swing the second side panel over and lower it onto the dowels and cam bolts at the other ends of the top and bottom\.

### 7. 16 · Lock the Second Side

Press in the other cam locks and turn each one clockwise until it is snug, just like before\.

### 8. 17 · Turn It onto Its Front

Together, roll the frame over so its open front faces the floor and its back faces up\.

### 9. 18 · Lay On the Back Sheets

The back is two thin hardboard sheets, side by side\. Lay them on with the shiny white side facing into the wardrobe and line them up with the edges\.

### 10. 19–20 · Nail the Back

Hammer small ring nails through the sheets into the edges of the boards\. Start at a corner and keep going all the way round: the manual uses 50 nails\. The back keeps the frame square, so it cannot lean like a parallelogram\.

### 11. 21 · Raise the Frame

Two people tip the frame up on its bottom edge\. It is 236 cm tall, but its corner swings through about 243 cm, so the manual asks for a ceiling of at least 244 cm when you build it lying down\. Then stand it against the wall\.

Lower ceiling? The manual shows building it upright in place instead\.

### 12. Page 26 · Fix It to the Wall

Screw the two wall brackets at the top to the wall\. This stops the tall frame from ever tipping forward\. Choose screws and plugs that suit your wall; they are not in the box\.

### 13. Done

Your PAX frame stands square and safely fixed\. Now it is ready for shelves, rails and doors\.
