### 1. Washing Machine Installation

Front\-load washer, 597 × 845 × 603 mm cabinet, pulled out with clear access to the rear panel\. Tools: 13 mm socket, 17 mm open\-end spanner, 600 mm spirit level\. Floor must be solid and level; no carpet or soft underlay\.

Dimensions from a 24 in / 60 cm class unit \(Bosch WAT28400UC\); check the rating plate and your model’s manual\.

### 2. 1 · Remove the Transit Bolts

Unscrew the four rear transit bolts anticlockwise with the 13 mm socket and withdraw each with its spacer sleeve\. They lock the suspended tub to the cabinet for shipping only\. Keep them for any later move\.

Running a spin with bolts fitted damages the suspension and drum bearings\.

### 3. 2 · Fit the Hole Caps

Press one snap\-in cap from the accessory bag into each transit\-bolt hole until it seats flush\. The caps keep dust, fingers and vermin out of the cabinet\.

### 4. 3 · Level the Machine

Set the spirit level on the worktop\. Back off the 17 mm lock nut, turn the foot \(clockwise raises\) until the bubble is centred across and front to back, then tighten the lock nut against the base\. Repeat at each corner; no corner may rock under hand pressure\.

Keep the cabinet as low as possible: nominal foot gap 16 mm \(12–25 mm\)\.

### 5. 4 · Move into Position

Turn the machine and slide it back on its feet, leaving about 420 mm behind the rear panel for hose routing\. Do not drag it by the door or the worktop edge\.

### 6. 5 · Connect the Inlet Hose

Thread the 3/4 in hose couplings onto the cold tap and the inlet\-valve spigot, sealing washers in place\. Hand\-tighten only; no tools on plastic couplings\. Open the tap and check both joints for leaks\.

Use the new hose supplied with the machine; do not reuse old hoses\.

### 7. 6 · Route the Drain Hose

Hang the U\-bend over the standpipe rim and lower the hose end about 80 mm in; never more than 100 mm\. The top of the bend must sit 600–1000 mm above the floor, with an air gap round the hose so the drain cannot siphon\. Secure it with a cable tie\.

A sealed connection or a discharge point below 600 mm lets the tub siphon empty\.

### 8. Installed

Plug into an earthed outlet matching the rating plate\. Run a short rinse\-and\-spin with no load and check the inlet joints, the drain and the machine for leaks and vibration\.
